Today, I’m talking to Stan Stalnaker, Founding Director, Hub Culture about how he and his team have adjusted their business model and operations to fully embrace virtual working world amidst the COVID-19 crisis.
Stan founded Hub Culture in 2002 and since then, this vibrant global community has grown to over 50,000 Members in cities around the world. I first met Stan in London in 2005 when I had just returned home from a stint living in Dubai. In those early years, Hub Culture felt way ahead of its time. To put this into context, LinkedIn launched in 2002, Skype in 2003 and Facebook in 2004!
A big part of Hub Culture’s business (and a large chunk of their revenue) is physically gathering their global citizens together at their five or six Hubs each year including their Pavilion at Davos.
I wanted to discover how Stan and the team are adapting to and embracing virtualisation, including their shifts around the physical Hubs they were expecting to host in 2020.
Stan is a heartwarmingly connected ‘big picture’ thinker and I love his take on how we all need to think in terms of “creation” rather than “creativity” when it comes to the future. Enjoy!
