Conversation on Camera with Ronnie Stangler, MD and Simon Lockett, Founders, Genome Advisory
The science of feeling good - how to use epigenetics to optimise your wellbeing from the inside out.

Your Mental, Emotional and Physical Health
Do you ever wonder about how much influence you actually have over your mental, emotional and physical health? I certainly do and have had many discussions with family, friends and clients on the topic, especially over this last year with mental health and resilience being front of mind.
We all want to be in optimum health. We want to feel alive, full of energy, happy and balanced - ready to tackle anything.
Most mornings I walk at least 5km’s with a wonderfully diverse group of people. We talk about absolutely everything and nothing at all. Over this last year, I've come to think of this as my daily dose of sanity, which I’ve not only needed but am eternally grateful for! The simple rhythm of the exercise, being outside in the fresh air, the conversation, debates, laughter and comfortable silences have had a powerfully positive effect on my brain chemistry.
The science of feeling good
I wanted to dig into the science behind all of this and find out more about what we can all do to feel good, especially right now after almost a year of living through a pandemic. I’m delighted to share my Conversation on Camera with Ronnie Stangler M.D. and Simon Lockett, Co-Founders of Genome Advisory with you.
We explored all things mental health, how to use epigenetics to optimise your wellbeing from the inside out, how we can slow our rate of ageing and the power we have to make informed choices, which have a significant impact on the quality of our lives.
With every thought, emotion and experience, you act as the epigenetic engineer of your cells, your body and your life.
Ronnie Stangler, M.D.
We also talked about Dr Stangler's contribution to the Harvard Case Study: Genomics in the Family Office (details below), why organisations should be looking into the science behind genomics and epigenetics with more rigour, why ethics should be a forethought, not an afterthought and how the entire ecosystem of trusts, governance, succession, estate planning, privacy, legacy creation and philanthropy (whew!) must be reconsidered in the context of genomics going forward.

Harvard Case Study: Genomics in the Family Office
Lauren H. Cohen, Ronnie Stangler, Spencer C. N. Hagist
In the late fall of 2020, Harvard Business School presented in its Executive Education Program for Family Offices the first case study of “Genomics in the Family Office”. The case profiled a prominent Israeli family challenged by a rare genetic disorder and addressed its impact on family dynamics, health planning, and philanthropic strategy. The novel concept of a Family Genomics Charter was introduced and served as a stimulus for provocative group discussion. You can purchase the case study here.
