There are some stark inequities when it comes to the investment world and I’m looking forward to learning more from Janice about what we can do to get things shifting in the right direction.
Globally, firms owned by women or people of colour manage a mere 1.3% of the investment industry’s $69 trillion in assets. This equates to $4 trillion missed value in the investment industry due to not investing in more diverse founders.
Female Funders are twice as likely to invest in start-ups with a female Founder and 3x more likely to invest in a company with a female CEO.
Only 12% of the Venture Capital decision-makers in the US are female, yet 69% of the top-performing funds have female General Partners.
It will take us 200 years to reach equal representation at this rate of progress.

She ended up as CE of its Growth Equity portfolio which invests in innovative, high growth companies with the potential for significant financial return and social impact, including companies such as SweepSouth, Giraffe and Selpal.
Janice continued to follow her passion for championing gender diversity by joined the Identity Partners Group, a majority-black, women-led investment group, as CEO and lead partner of the recently established Identity Fund Managers.
IFM is focused on building a leading majority women-led private equity fund platform in strategic growth and impact sectors that are currently under-represented from a diversity perspective which includes the recently established Identity Property Fund.
